How it works
Stormwater is introduced tangentially into the side of the
vessel, initially spiralling around the perimeter. Oil
and floatables rise to the water surface and are trapped
in the outer annular space. As the flow continues to
rotate about the vertical axis, it travels downward.
Low energy vortex motion directs sediment toward the
centre and base of the vessel. Internal components at
the base protect stored sediments and direct the effluent
up through the inner annular space. A stable flow regime
maximises removal and prevents re-entrainment of stored
pollutants.
