Performance

The Heliscreen is an automatic self-cleansing storm overflow screen which prevents the introduction of aesthetically offensive material and gross solids, greater than 6 mm in two directions, into a receiving watercourse. The Heliscreen is continually brushed clean to ensure the foil does not blind and that the flow is discharged freely. The system has a unique ability to operate effectively under flooding conditions.

Device Selection
NOTE: The decision to choose between the Hydro-Static® Screen, the Hydro-Jet® Screen or the Heliscreen should be based upon the design spill frequency and catchment characteristics. Hydro's whole-life cost models indicate that for spills less than 6 times a year a simple Hydro-Static Screen is the more cost-effective. However, spill frequencies greater than 6 times per year require excessive maintenance. In these applications, because of their self-cleansing attributes, the Hydro-Jet Screen and Heliscreen® have proved more cost-effective.
