Ancillary Products
Hydro International offers the resources you need
to achieve effective grit removal and handling.
Backwash and Underflow System
The separated grit, which accumulates in the collection area,
is
discharged from the vessel through the underflow pipe located
at the
bottom of the Grit King®. A period of fluidizing prior
to discharging
the collected grit through the underflow pipe is recommended.
Hydro International’s fluidizing system prevents the
collected grit
from compacting in the collection area and releases entrapped
organics, which rise back into the vessel to continue on for
further
treatment. The fluidizing process also aids in transporting
the
accumulated grit to the grit dewatering equipment.
Hydro International’s backwash system is fed with plant
or potable
water and is supplied complete with a solenoid valve and a
manually
operated ball valve. Where appropriate, air backwash can be
used in lieu of water.
Control Panel
The Grit King system is controlled by a state-of-the-art PLC
based,
NEMA 4X, 7 or 12 control panel. The panel is equipped to activate
and terminate the operation of the backwash system, grit underflow
system, and grit classifier. Its flexible design allows for
automated
or manual operation.
